Oh really, Mr. Perry?

Tyler Perry is auditioning new men, ostensibly for a new TV series..

From the Shadow and Act Blog:

Casting Notice For Tyler Perry’s New TBS Series Looking For “HOTTEST, SEXIEST, African-American men”

We are looking for the HOTTEST, SEXIEST, African-American men in all shades! If you have models, submit them! If you represent professional sports athletes who are in great physical condition, submit them! Do not let their acting ability stop you from submitting them...The actor must be comfortable with their body to do a shirtless scene if required.
Sooooo... you don't have to be able to act, as long as you are in great physical condition, are HOT and/or SEXY, and are comfortable with taking your shirt off.

I see some one-on-one rehearsal sessions in the future.

The wise and wonderful Miss Coco Peru once said something to the effect that men who complain the loudest about men who suck dick, suck dick. So it shouldn't really come as a shock that at least 3 men have accused Pastor Eddie Long of sexual abuse. Long, whose history of anti-gay rhetoric is so virulent that some veteran civil rights figures refused to attend Coretta Scott King's funeral when it was held at his mega-church in suburban Atlanta.

In the interest of fairness, let's look at both sides of the case. First off, the plaintiff's all brough civil suits, not criminal suits, which says to me that they don't have that kind of compelling evidence, such as a rape kit, or other physical evidence (think Monica Lewinsky and soiled dresses). So since they brought civil suit, they are seeking financial compensation for the real or imagined wrongs they suffered. Wrongs such as having an old brotha take you on lavish trips around the world, buy you a car and all other maneer of excess, all in exchange for the pleasure of sucking your dick. The horrror!

On the other side, we have Pastor Long (I can't with the "Bishop") who, if the allegations are true, spent the day railing against the sins of homosexuality, but always had at least one kept boy on the side for sexual pleasure. And while we certainly don't have an cum-stained dresses, we have these instead:

These pictures were supposedly emailed or texted to one or more of the plaintiffs. While it's not exactly a dick shot,

at a minimum its inappropriate. Can you imagine your phone buzzing and you open your phone to a picture of your pastor in his tightest, gayest muscle shirt?

I will be interested in seeing how this plays out, because I GUARANTEE YOU that although there are 3 plaintiffs now, there are several others in the wings. If Pastor Long settles out of court, his church and many others, including me, will see it as an admission of guilt. If he goes to trial and declares his innocence under oath, those others will come out of the woodwork, including those tragic queens he almost certainly deluded into thinking they were the only one he had a spiritual relationship with.

More to come...

Keep it real, Gurl!

To the surprise of fives of tens of people, Ricky Martin came clean and admitted to Living La Vida Pinga! And with that, Senorita Martin joins a number of famous geighs who have come out of the closet to the surprise of no one.

Finally, someone comes out of the closet that I actually want to fuck motorboat spank meet. Lord knows I wasn't interested in Gayken (Clay Aiken), although I WOULD dip my dick in Lance Bass' honeypot if he hit on me at the bathhouse, and I would tell everyone although I would't tell anyone.

One could argue that he should have come out earlier. He could have helped many young people who were confused in their sexuality. But like Gayken and Bass and many others before him, he says he was afraid it would hurt his career. Alright gurls, let's keep it real.

I think its HILARIOUS that while you were shaking your ass and collecting those checks and all those young (and not so young in Gayken's case) girls were screaming for you, you really wanted to be the one screaming as you lowered your quivering hole onto the waiting dick of your big black bodyguard who looks exactly like Michael Clark Duncan. But let's be real, you only came out when the girls stopped screaming and the checks dried up. Let's not pretend like you had some huge epiphany and wanted to "be honest with yourself". Frankly, you came out when no one really gave a shit anymore.

Sean Hayes, I'm giving you the side eye here, Miss Honey!

Keep it real bitches!

My Testimony

11 years and one month ago, I had a revelation...

March 26, 1998

…the time has come for me to face the truth. I am gay. Those three words have been in the back of my mind since I was 14 years old, but until today, I could never say them, even to myself. This can't simply be a stage I'm going through, because stages don't last for 13 years. This realization does not bring me any particular sense of peace or well being, but a sense of loneliness because it throws into chaos all the plans I have for my life.

I don't like going to gay clubs and standing around listening to house music all night long. I think most drag queens have deep-seated emotional issues and I would never be caught dead making a fool of myself at a gay pride parade. Gay pride is a misnomer for my life. I am neither proud nor ashamed of it. It is just who I am.

I have never felt so lonely as when I am in a room full of gay men. I feel no kinship with them. As far as I'm concerned, the only thing that we have in common is our sexual desire for men (real men, not effeminate male women). Other than that I am a completely average Black male.

How did I get here? When I am honest with myself, I spent the last 13 years in a fantasy world called Soon. Soon was that completely tangible, yet totally unknown day in the not-to-distant future when this stage of my existence would end. I kept thinking it would come next week, or in a month, or next year, but definitely by the time I was 18 or 21 or 25 or 30. Until today, I was always certain that it would come. Soon.

But Soon never came and now it's time I stopped bullshitting myself. Soon hasn't shown up yet and it probably never will. What the fuck am I going to do now? Soon provided the sufficient fiction on which I based everything in my life.

I know that eventually I will come to terms with my life, my mission and my place in the world. But right now, I feel completely and utterly lost…

How far can you go down the road...

before its too late to turn back?

Chance Nalley, the man pictured above, is a 7th-grade school teacher in NYC who invited his students to hs commitment ceremony. That is a brave thing for him to do. Even better, many of his students, and their parents (largely black and hispanic) will attend. Wonderful! Oh, and Mr. Nalley identifies himself as bisexual.

(Cue record scratch) Really gurl?

Bisexuality is nothing more than a convenient waystation to gayness. It allows one to acknowledge one's admiration of the dick while proclaiming love of the pussy (at least in theory). Most so-called bisexuals are rarely seen with people of the opposite sex (hence the "in theory").

Well Miss Nalley (um... he has GAYFACE!!!!) is marrying a man, so why is he still calling himself bisexual. Honey, that train left a station a long time ago!

again, REALLY gurl!!!!

The Ever-Shrinking Closet

I just finished reading Newsweek's cover story on the life and death of Lawrence King, the California teenage who was murdered, ostensibly for being gay.

I have always had an active imagination. When I was a child I used to pretend I was a superhero, or more accurately, a superheroine. She was tall, with blonde hair and blue eyes, which was odd, considering her alter ego was a chubby black child from PG County, Maryland.

If you accept the premise that your fantasy world is your truest expression of how you wish the real world were, did that mean that I wanted to be a woman? That I was gay? If that young child were living today, would he have come out like Lawrence King did at the age of 10?

The question is, does anyone know enough about themselves to make that leap at so young an age, or are they marking themselves and setting themselves up for a life of torment? I am not excusing any type of bullying, but let's be real. When you are in school, you will get teased if you exhibit any degree of difference, and its not like it necessarily gets better when you are an adult. A grown-ass woman had to shoot a man a couple of weeks ago because he kept taunting her about being a lesbian. (a violent lesbian? I know, SHOCKING!)

Larry King did way more than just come out. He started dressing like a girl, and even went so far as to start taunting the other boys in school, accusing them of liking him. He even went so far as to make sexual comments to the other boys in the locker room. Yet, for all the bravado and professed "Out and Proud"-ness, he, by his own admission, had never kissed a boy. So was he really even gay?

The devil's advocate would say that you don't have to have ever kissed the odjects of your desire to declare your sexual orientation. There are plenty of straight men and women (well, some) who are virgins into their early 20s, but the fact that they were straight was never in question, and it shouldn't be. To be blunt, being straight is THE NORM. You don't have to prove it, it is assumed. There is no litmus test for it.

There is, however, such a test for being gay. To quote the philosopher Andrew "Dice" Clay, "You either suck dick, or you do not suck dick!" Yes it's not as simple as that, but you get my point. You can't (or better yet, shouldn't) call yourself gay until you have done some gay things. Maybe young Larry was a budding transvestite. He might have been grown up to be straight(ish) but just got a sexual thrill out of putting on women's clothing and accoutrements. Maybe he wasn't mature enough and didn't have enough life experience to fully understand what he was feeling.

And what about the adults in his life?

His adoptive father (Larry came from a bad family situation? Yes I know, SHOCKING!) never believed his son was gay. Well, he may not have been totally gay, but something was happening that required more than a knee-jerk reaction.

The teachers and administration at his school were split, with some believing Larry was violating the dress code by dressing as a girl, and even possibly bullying the other kids with his constant sexual taunts. Others believed in his right to free expression. One even gave him a dress when he came out to her. (Inappropriate much?) Then there was the out lesbian administrator who seemed to be Larry's main source of support and his advocate. Reports are that she encouraged Larry's behavior (a militant dyke? I know, SHOCKING! just kidding, I love the lesbians!).

Larry's life and death is a prime example of why I wish more men would come out, to give better role models to these young kids. They need to know that every gay man is not effeminate and/or has any desire to dress as women. Now don't get me wrong, I really and truly have no problem with men who are fem or trannies, but again, let's keep it real. When you express yourself a certain way, you are setting yourself up for drama. That's fine for a grown man, but for a kid, it can be a matter of life and death. In Lawrence King's case, it was death.
